- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪First, I hope you're never in a position to need a payday loan. Second, I am spoiled because when I lived in Florida, they had Amscot, which did loans at a much cheaper rate, like around 10%. At Advance America, it's more like about 40%, including their fees, taxes, and their high interest rates. The customer service was pretty good: the attendants were friendly enough, but if I had to choose between taking out one of their loans, or putting off a bill -- I would choose putting off a bill.
