  I moved to Houston at 36 week pregnant and had scheduled an appointment with Dr. Miller based on my sister's recommendation. This seemed like a good idea until we realized her office was 45 minutes from where we were living. I had my husband and my one year old with me and neither of them were happy about the long car ride. We barely made the 15 minute cut off and we all came in with bad attitudes. Luckily she was still willing to see me. Dr. Miller was first incredibly grateful to meet my daughter, taking more of an interest in her than she needed to. She also acknowledged my husband, asking him several questions about his new job (the reason we moved to Houston). Even though we were the reason she was likely now running behind because we showed up so late she was incredibly gracious and compassionate. She never seemed rushed and she asked me again and again and again what my concerns were. Most doctors only ask once and I leave the appointment thinking, "Oh I should've mentioned this, that, etc." So I appreciated that she kept asking until I had remembered everything weighing on my mind. Also, when I came in she remembered details about my sister and my family even though she had only ever seen my sister once. She remembered that we have a brother who is handicap and that we're Catholic and practice natural methods of family planning. She was so understanding and supportive of our way of doing things that I began to think she was Catholic as well. I guess she could see it on my face because she quickly told me that she is not Catholic. This makes me think that Dr. Miller is profoundly respectful of her patients beliefs and preferences for their pregnancy. She even recommended a group of OBGYNs closer to home who specialize in the natural methods we are using. She understood that we needed someone closer to home and even though this was clear from the beginning of the appointment she still showed her concern for us as people with dignity, not just as dollar signs coming through her door. She promised to find someone for me on my side of town that I'd be comfortable with. After I left I expected I wouldn't hear from them and that I would have to call them to ask them to send my file over to a new doctor, but true to her word I heard back a few hours later - they had found a new doctor for me and were ready to send my information to her. Sorry for the review, I just can't say enough about this doctor! She is not just a great doctor, she is an exceptional human being.
